The throttle bodies and throttle opening valves on the engines tend to build up oil and fine debris inside the opening over time, especially on the right side due to the breather hose being located there. If you allow the build up to grow it can result in blocking the valve partially open and restricting air flow to the engine.

Cleaning your throttle body is easy and does not involve you having to remove it from the motor. You will need to remove the engine covers red and yellow arrows and air intake ducts green arrows to perform this work. Please see our article on engine cover removal for additional assistance. Depending on what hand you are better with spray a rag with carb cleaner and reach into the throttle body and clean the opening and valve red arrow.

The lower right side of the throttle body tends to build up more oil and dirt than the left due to the proximity of the breather hose red arrow. You can manually open the throttle valve while doing this to clean behind it. It is very difficult to see in the throttle body opening without using a mirror and more difficult to get a picture of so sorry for the slightly blurry photo.

If you do not have a small mirror just keep wiping until the rag comes out clean. After cleaning installation is the reverse of removal. Got more questions? Join us in our Technical Forum Message Board and ask a question to one of our many automotive experts.

Recommended for slippery or snowy condition to prevent wheel spin.

Also if u want a leisurely drive. Recommended for normal city driving. S sport mode changes the ECU mapping for more aggressive driving style, like when you want to drive fast and attack corners at high speed. You'll need to stay at lower gears through the bend, so it will upshift slower and down shift faster. My personal preference is C mode as it is more relaxing.

But when i need to drive fast, i use the touchtronic manual shift to downshift or upshift whenever i want it. I feel that S mode is a bit too aggressive on the highway, and too jerky for city driving.

Probably good on track. For W, the S mode is actually standard mode maybe W onwards they change it to sports mode. I'm not sure.

Read in the owner's manual that it is supposed to be the default mode for driving for most situation. Regarding your point about jerky for city drivingyou may want to check your shifting quality from 1st gear to 2nd gear And beyond the 2nd gear the rest of the upshifts are much smoother right? I experienced it whenever I am in S mode and it disappeared when I am in C mode. Putting together the fact that C mode shifts from 2nd gear onwards and the jerk seem to be only from traffic light start off in the lower gears, I came to a conclusion that there is a problem with the gear shift.

Even my wife who is in the passenger seat can feel it commented that the jerk a little bit abnormal for a premium conti car. To cut long story short, it turned out that an update on the TCU solves the problem Even if i switch to S, when i turn off the engine. And turn back on, it goes back to C. When i mentioned jerk is the downshifting from It does make sense that for Blue Efficiency models, MB will force the car to be in default C mode as it is the most fuel efficient in line with the principle behind the model line if you drive it smoothly with gradual acceleration and deceleration.Forums Announcements What's New?

It might be worth trying to reset the throttle body, I believe there is a procedure to do this, the one that works for my is: Turn on ignition ie all warning lights on but engine not running Push the accelerator to the floor and hold for 5 secs Turn off ignition but leave key in Wait 2 minutes If not it may be gunked up and cannot move the throttle butterfly- have a look at it and check.

Other options could be an air leak or another sensor fault although I suspect STAR would show a fault if it was a sensor.

Python ssh bash

I've clean the throttle flap. Its not jammed and its clean. Theres no fault in Star so I assume its not a sensor fault. I'll try the reset procedure and update.
